Marshall University’s June Harless Center seeks sponsors and participants for the 3^rd Annual Dolly Dash 5K Race for Reading taking place Saturday, August 9^th at Ritter Park. 

Proceeds from this annual event will continue putting books in the homes of West Virginia’s youngest learners, giving families an opportunity to build a home library that has long-lasting literacy, social, and economic outcomes. 

As a result of the DPIL program, schools receive a better-prepared kindergartener and studies have proven by 3^rd grade, child graduates outperform their non-DPIL peers in academic testing by 29%. Statistics also reflect higher graduation rates, positively impacting economic and workforce development and even substance use prevention.
