The augmented reality (AR) sandbox is a dynamic, interactive, 3D educational tool designed to help understand and further knowledge of topography, mapping, natural hazards, watersheds, levees, and more!
The augmented reality (AR) sandbox uses a motion sensor via a Microsoft Kinect 3D camera, projector, and specialized computer software to map contour lines, which are then augmented in real time onto the sand as it adjusts to the elevation levels within the sandbox. The overall goal of the sandbox is to allow students to physically create topography models to allow for an engaging and exciting interactive experience
This event is free and open to the public.
