View mapMarshall University School of Art & Design is pleased to present an artist talk with Houston-based jewelry maker and metalsmith, Masumi Kataoka on Monday, October 7 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in VAC 209. Kataoka will discuss her creative jewelry-making process and inspiration.
Following the artist talk will be an opening reception for Echo / Locations a two-person exhibition featuring Kataoka's work alongside School of Art & Design Fibers Professor Miyuki Akai Cook, Echo / Locations. The reception will be hosted from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Birke Art Gallery.
The exhibition will be on view October 7 through November 7, 2024, in the Birke Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the Visual Arts Center at 927 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV.
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Admission to the gallery and all events are free and open to the public.
