Marshall University School of Art & Design is pleased to present an artist talk with Houston-based jewelry maker and metalsmith, Masumi Kataoka on Monday, October 7 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in VAC 209. Kataoka will discuss her creative jewelry-making process and inspiration.

Following the artist talk will be an opening reception for Echo / Locations a two-person exhibition featuring Kataoka's work alongside School of Art & Design Fibers Professor Miyuki Akai Cook, Echo / Locations. The reception will be hosted from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Birke Art Gallery.

The exhibition will be on view October 7 through November 7, 2024, in the Birke Art Gallery, located on the first floor of the Visual Arts Center at 927 3^rd Ave, Huntington, WV.

Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Admission to the gallery and all events are free and open to the public.
