After nearly 50 years, Cindy Warren, assistant dean for admissions & student affairs, has retired! Since 1977, she’s welcomed every class to Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine—now it’s time to celebrate her! 

For nearly five decades, Cindy Warren has been the heart and soul of the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. As Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs since 1977, she has been the first voice every accepted student hears—a moment so cherished it’s simply known as “the day Cindy called”. Her unwavering dedication, warmth, and personal touch have shaped the lives of thousands of future physicians, creating a legacy of compassion and excellence that defines the school’s culture. In recognition of her extraordinary service, the university has honored her with a named conference room and a scholarship bearing her name, ensuring that her impact will continue to inspire generations to come. Cindy Warren isn’t just a staff member—she’s a symbol of what makes Marshall Medicine a family!
