About this Event
Dr. Allison Carey, professor and chair of the Department of English, will discuss her book, "Doubly Erased: LGBTQ Literature in Appalachia," at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Drinko Library Atrium.
The event is free and open to all.
She will share her extensive research into the writings of Appalachian authors from past generations, as they expressed both their own and loved ones’ struggles to find acceptance of differences in sexuality and gender expression.
This book discussion will be presented by Academic Affairs in support of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Quality Initiative.
