Hear Dr. Stefan Schöberlein (Texas

A&M-CT) as he shares the story of Huntington native and Marshall alum Tom Kromer (1906-1969), who wrote an acclaimed novel about homelessness during the Great Depression. The talk will focus on the author's upbringing in West Huntington (then Central City), his father's struggles in the local glass industry, and Kromer's first writings as a student-journalist at Huntington High. Schöberlein previously taught at Marshall University and is writing a biography of Kromer.
