Join Nicholas Van Young for a Rhythmic Arts Workshop Series, offered March 1-2 on the Marshall University campus. Van Young is a 2023-24 recipient of the Joan C. Edwards Distinguished Professor of the Arts Endowment, and will share a three-part workshop series in the School of Theatre and Dance and the School of Music.

Van Young's workshop schedule is as follows:

Friday, March 1: Explorations in Percussion, 12-12:50 p.m. in Smith Recital Hall.

Saturday, March 2: Body Percussion (all levels), 10-11:30 a.m.; followed by Tap Dance (intermediate), 12-2 p.m. Both of these will be in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.

Members of the community are invited, as well as Marshall students. MU students can attend for free. Community members may attend for a suggested donation of $10.

There will be two opportunities to watch Van Young perform in the Marshall University Spring Dance Concert. Performances will be at 6 p.m. on March 2 and at 2 p.m. on March 3 in the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.
