Marshall University will celebrate its Winter Commencement Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Marshall Health Network Arena in downtown Huntington. Doors to the arena will open at 8 a.m. Graduates need to report no later than 9 a.m.

This year’s commencement speaker will be Dr. John Young, professor and associate chair in Marshall’s Department of English and recipient of the Charles E. Hedrick Outstanding Faculty Award. Young, a member of the Marshall faculty since 2000, is recognized for his excellence in teaching and scholarship. His work studies the history of how literary texts have been written, revised and published.

Guests attending the ceremony should note that the Marshall Health Network Arena follows clear bag and security screening policies, including metal detector screening and visual bag inspections.
